How long does psychotherapy last?
Ending psychotherapy is the choice of the client and can happen whenever they decide. Usually, I would advise people to try to commit to 8 to 10 sessions to allow time to see a difference. Some people decide to continue therapy long term and I have many clients in therapy for several years who continue to see benefits.
